The research tool Project Jara’id started in 2009; and since 2011 it has been a constantly evolving chronology of historical periodicals in Arabic, between 1800 and 1920s. All versions are only working versions that we publish online for the scholarly community. The Github page of the project is here, with Till Grallert’s codes. The most current version is here: https://projectjaraid.github.io/
“La fabrique du Caire moderne” is a pilot project about urban development, architecture, Euro-Mediterranean entanglements and global investment in Cairo in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Its main goal is to combine thorough archival research with historical topographic iconography, using digital tools (visualization, GIS and TEI-XML texts), in order to produce a global urban history of the Egyptian capital.
